Because They Have Taken Away My Lord

This is one that I've been thinking about for quite some time and I'm sure I'll revisit the theme again. The scene depicts the moment directly after Mary has seen two angels within the sepulcher and they asked her, "Woman, why weepest thou?" She replies, "Because they have taken away my Lord." She turns from them and looks into the garden and sees a man standing there who she identifies as the gardener. From that moment, to me, happens one of the most beautiful interactions in the scriptures. John 20:11-16

Note: These new pieces are all on display at the Terra Nova Gallery.

That is lovely! I also have a question - do you cut out those skinny black lines as part of the entire cut - or do you cut one skinny black line and twist it around? Do I make sense? Love your work!

Cioara, thanks, I think!

Kim, I cut out those skinny black lines as part of the entire cut. They're one flat piece.

If you don't mind my asking - what kind of paper do you use? I like using cardstock but it is so thick that detail is sometimes difficult. They have something that is inbetween cardstock and copier paper at our newspaper office, (and I'm having a brain freeze right now and can't remember what it is called), that I like but they don't have it in black. Ugh!

Also - WOW! :)

Kim, I use a variety of paper. Mostly I like to use origami paper. It's got a nice texture that's easy to cut through and also pretty durable.

Breathtaking. Can you make prints available to us? Not as good as an actual cut, but.... Your art is so inspirational. Thank you for choosing to share your testimony through your patient, graceful work.
