Template Tuesday: Who Doesn't Love a Cowboy?

This weekend I went to visit my parents up in Lava Hot Springs which is near Pocatello which is about 3 hours north of Salt Lake in Idaho. We went to a Chinese buffet on Saturday where very few Chinese people were located. While I was at the food bar, I was ladling up some sweet and sour chicken and I think I might have cut in front of this cowboy. I looked up at him and he said, "Hello, how are you doin?"
I replied "Just great, how are you?"
"Never been better," he said.

It's enough to make you want to change your name to Venna and move to Malad.

Here's what this scherenschnitte template will look like. Like always, remember to cut out the inner pieces (the shaded gray areas) first.

two things... first, this looks like a tough one. i have yet to get a proper knife, though, so that may be why i'm feeling chicken. second, i love it! the skinny many and plump shorter woman look just as i imagine my grandparents looking. he was tall and skinny and she was... well, you know. they met and married and lived in southern idaho - running a dairy farm. thanks for making me think of my good grandparents!

I think your designs are amazing and read your blog just see how creative you are. So i feel like I should know you since I lived in Lava while going to high school at Marsh Valley. i graduated in 99. I look at your pic but it doesnt ring a bell! But thats not saying much after 2 kids. My memory has faded.

Sarah, that's so great. You should cut it out and put it on some old looking paper and say it is your grandparents.

Sheri, Thanks so much! I actually was born and raised in Vegas. I graduated high school from there in 92, so I'm a little older too. You might know my cousin, Hazel Rowe or her kids Scott or Steven.

Hi!

Today I posted an entry on my blog with a link to yours.

Would you let me know if that's OK?

Thanks.

This one made me do a deep throated laugh, the kind that happens when your mouth is closed and you unexpectedly read something really funny and you weren't prepared to laugh. You captured the essence of the cowboy and the pokey girl who crushes on them...me.
