I did a post a little while ago of a girl peering into a warren. It was for one of my new art pen pals. My friend Rama is teaching art to elementary school kids and asked a few artists if they would be pen pals with his students. I agreed and got to have two pen pals. The second kid I got a postcard from was a boy. Rama advised to create something in return that kind of mimics what they sent me. It was kind of tricky because, while I'm an expert at what little girls like, I'm a bit lost when it comes to boys. He made it easy for me by drawing a Pterodactyl. My favorite dinosaur is the Velociraptor. Ever since I saw that thing in Jurassic Park, it's been the scariest dinosaur of them all to me. So I pitted him against a time traveling robot. The Velociraptor seems to be winning with it's maiming of the Robot, but the Robot's laser gun might just take down the dinosaur. I don't know. Who do you think is winning?

I'm voting for the velociraptor. I love the way that arm is dangling from its mouth. Nature wins over technology! Your pen pal has to love this.

Looks like the robot is screaming "I DON'T LOVE YOU!!!" and that hurts the dinosaur more than lasers ever could.
That paper cut is pretty amusing. I think it will be a hit with that kid.

I honestly have no idea who is going to win the fight. The robot does have the laser gun, but the dinosaur has extra thick skin to repel the blasts. It's a toss up.

This is wonderful! My youngest (8) who just loves dinosaurs says it's really cool and can I please make one for his room! :-)
He also says that as much as he loves dinos, he thinks the robot is winning. So there you go....
The robot may win, but long after he's a heap of rust under a palm tree they'll find some of the dino's DNA and bring him back to life just in time for summer blockbuster season. So I'm for the dinosaur.
That's a fantastic papercut. The delicacy of the raptor's creepy little vestigial arms and the robot's severed limb -- a joy to the soul.

for someone who says that they are not familiar with little boys tastes, you have sure hit the nail on the head with this one!! My son squeeled when he saw it !! I hope you dont mind but I printed it out so he can have it by his bed!!
