A few years back, I went to the
Into the Woods design conference just outside of Seattle. One of the presenters was an artist named
Rama Hughes. He and his wife,
Christine, are both so very talented. I kept in contact with them and was recently asked to help Rama out with a project. He teaches a group of kids art and has asked different people to be artistic penpals with his students. This papercut is for a girl who I've heard enjoys drawing pictures of rabbits. I hope she likes it.
What a great idea! And how lucky this little rabbit-loving student is to have a pen=pal like you! Jealous!
ReplyDeleteIt's so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteFunny, I was thinking about Watership Down yesterday. This is such a wonderful snip, Cindy. jan
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Wish I were your artist penpal.
ReplyDeleteAmazing, as always! Great job.
ReplyDeleteThanks you guys! I was researching rabbits today and discovered that a baby rabbit is also called a kit and that a group of baby rabbits is a kindle. I should have titled it Kindle.
ReplyDeletebrilliant.

ReplyDeleteI really love your work, it reminds me of the Jan Pienkowski illustrations that I loved as a child - have you seen his stuff?
I love this one, CIndy! Love all that underground activity!
ReplyDelete...and it's absolutely delightful, I LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely! I loved Watership Down so much that I named my dog Fiver! I've been hoping that they would update the cover art to bring that book more fans. Your artwork would make a gorgeous cover!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful + whimsical! I found it on Pinterest.
