Mucha Muchacha

Ooo...I was doing some experimentation on color variation and cut the same image out of three different kinds of paper. It's Mucha inspired. I think I'd like to do more like this, only take a little more time with the details.

I think one thing I really love about Mucha's work is that the beautiful women that he draws aren't stick thin and they don't have cookie cutter faces. I suppose it was a different era and glamour had a different definition, but I think the beauty he captures is timeless.

s.s parker, welcome and thanks! Maybe I will sell this one...I'm maybe going to be in an arts and crafts show this summer, so I might need to stockpile my stuff.

dishpantheism, thanks! I know, Mucha wasn't afraid of a girl with a good sized schnoz.

Wow, Cindy. You're so talented, and I'd never even heard of papercutting before!

Is there a special sort of paper you use?

  5. I love that guy and what he does with lines. He has a couple of smoking posters that make me reconsider words (of wisdom). He saw beauty in the line and I covet him pretty hard.

    These are really nice to.
